As a photographer interested in people as subjects, I am often drawn to the human figure. Dirdro explores the complexity and intricacy of the body as a political site. It demands the observers' engagement, whether in terms of their immediate response or the tension created within the image being transferred to the beholder. Each image I produce not only fuels my own fascination with the human form itself, but also with society's relationship to it politically, culturally and emotionally. The work is not designed to passively please, but to challenge intellectually, without the use of clichéd provocation.
